Founded in Idaho over 67 years ago, the Idaho Youth Ranch provides a range of services to the state’s most vulnerable youth. Some of these services include career training, counseling, and even equine therapy.
Scott Curtis, CEO of the Idaho Youth Ranch, had this to say, “It was great to get Kerrylyn’s call. We plan to use the funds to help cover the cost of our new bilingual therapist that will serve all of Treasure valley, but primarily Canyon County.”
He continued, “Canyon County is a heavily underserved area. They have a large Latino/Hispanic population. Most of the young people actually speak English, but many of their parents don’t. And so, for our therapeutic services to be of the most benefit it’s great to be able to talk to the parents and work with the family.” The top three vote earning charities will receive a share of the final grant pool. Voting will be conducted among the Mike Brown Group clients, agents, staff, and community partners to decide the top three recipients. Grants will be awarded the week of December 14, 2020.
